We had the pleasure of collaborating with The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for their exclusive VIP Preview Event at the Calyx. Alongside the award-winning Laissez-faire Catering and stunning styling by Simply Seated, we were excited to take on the creative and technical challenge of showcasing this unique venue.
The event was the industry launch of their new botanical installation, the truly magical Alchemy of a Rainforest installation. Our goal was clear: enhance the attendee experience without overshadowing the unique architectural elements and horticultural elements of The Calyx, which make the venue so iconic. Our technology had to work in harmony with the venue, highlighting its potential for future events, both inside and out.
LED Wall and Custom Content
We installed a large outdoor LED wall, strategically positioned to complement rather than compete with the space’s unique features. We developed custom visuals tailored to align with the event branding, creating a welcoming moment for attendees that tied everything together. The outdoor LED wall was also used to stream the evening’s speeches and entertainment to all guests who chose to stay outdoors and enjoy the beautiful September evening.
Seamless Entertainment
For the night's entertainment, we ensured the performers were the stars, providing top-tier audio equipment for the DJ and live band, as well as the mesmerising puppet performance by Erth. Our team made sure every detail - from sound clarity to lighting - allowed the entertainment to shine, enhancing the overall vibe while keeping the focus on the incredible talent.
Showcasing The Calyx’s Event Potential
Our collaboration went beyond just the technical setup. We wanted to demonstrate how others could make use of this stunning venue for their own events, envisioning ways that the indoor function space and the striking outdoor architecture could be enhanced with creative AV solutions. It’s exciting to think about the possibilities this partnership might bring for future events, not just within The Calyx but perhaps extending to other unique spaces within the gardens.

Our team was on-site throughout the event, providing real-time technical support and troubleshooting to ensure the evening went off without a hitch. It was a joy to partner with the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney on this project, and we’re already buzzing with ideas for how we can push the boundaries further in future collaborations.
