James Hardie Modern Homes Forecast 2025 - Purpose Collective

The Challenge

For the second consecutive year, Purpose Collective entrusted our team with the production of the James Hardie Modern Homes Forecast, an event designed to launch James Hardie’s annual research report on emerging home design trends. 

This year’s event required a dynamic hybrid experience - combining pre-recorded expert insights with a polished live event at The Calyx while ensuring seamless virtual access for a broader audience.

The Solution

To enhance both the in-person and virtual components, we introduced a multi-stage production approach:

  • Studio-Quality Pre-Recorded Content: In the lead-up to the event, we utilised our state-of-the-art studio in Alexandria to record high-quality discussions and insights. This allowed for a more curated experience, ensuring speakers delivered their key messages with clarity and polish. Our studio’s LED wall, professional lighting, and multi-camera setup enabled us to create visually engaging content that matched the prestige of the James Hardie brand.

  • Live Event Production at The Calyx: The event itself took place at The Calyx, a stunning venue within the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. Our team provided full AV support, ensuring the in-room audience experienced an immersive and technically seamless presentation. The pre-recorded content was strategically incorporated into the live show, maintaining engagement while allowing panelists to focus on deeper discussions and audience interactions.

  • Custom-Built Microsite & Virtual Streaming: To maximise reach, we developed a branded microsite for James Hardie, where virtual attendees could access the live stream and pre-recorded content. This platform was designed for an interactive experience, with features such as live Q&A and audience polling to encourage participation from remote viewers.

  • End-to-End Technical Management: Our team managed every aspect of the hybrid production, from content capture and editing to live stream coordination and on-site AV operations. A dedicated Stream Director oversaw the virtual broadcast, ensuring high-quality video and audio delivery, while our technical crew at The Calyx ensured a flawless in-person experience.

The Results

The 2025 James Hardie Modern Homes Forecast set a new benchmark for hybrid events by blending pre-recorded and live content into a seamless, engaging experience. The virtual audience benefited from a polished broadcast, while in-person attendees enjoyed a dynamic and immersive event. By leveraging our studio capabilities and custom-built microsite, James Hardie successfully expanded their reach and delivered an elevated experience for both audiences.
